Remember when magazines were your only option? If you long for those days of old, then you'll enjoy this gallery of popular websites reimagined as magazines. Thank god for the internetz.
When you use words like “R#tard” or “R#tarded” it hurts people, I heard you and it hurt me. Many people with disabilities consider “R#tard” the most offensive word referring to disability. I agree. Bigots use negative terms for minorities. R#tard is the same, it’s hate speech used by bigots. Consider carefully your words in the future.Because…Words Hit, Hard As a Fist. So, JUST STOP IT. i'm surprised to see this word used on neatorama. i wouldn't ever expect to see racial slurs, or slurs against sexual orientation. what makes this one okay?
Agree with jennabreeze -- I was about to bring this up as well. It's a nice parody of a NatGeo cover marred by a word that just isn't funny anymore. I wish Neatorama had chosen one of the other covers to appear here; this one would still be there, but a lot of people won't follow the link, and then this site wouldn't be associating itself with that particular choice.
I changed the cover. My apologies to those who are offended by the image.
My uncle, the sweetest and kindest man who has ever lived, had Down's Syndrome. He lived with my family for a few years after my grandmother passed away.
I don't believe this blog condones jokes like the one on Tauntr.com, but with over 30,000 posts on the blog, things do slip by my radar. My apologies again.
thank you, alex. you made my day. the use of offensive slurs is all too prevalent on the internet; it's good to know there are sites like neatorama that are sophisticated enough to avoid making cheap shots.
