The Moses Bridge

"And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left." This eye-catching installation called the Moses Bridge lets you cross the moat of a Seventeenth Century Dutch fort beneath the water level. From a distance, it can't be seen, so people walking on it appear to be moving through the water.

That's pretty interesting.

I wondered how it deals with varying water levels. From the vertical streaking on the inside of the bridge walls, I am guessing that when the water level rises, it simply floods the bridge, and then they either pump it out, or it leaves via some kind of drain.

With about 25% of our land area located below sea level i think we can manage keeping a little bridge dry. If not i should be extremely worried.
