If AT-ATs Had Wheels

If AT-ATs had wheels, they wouldn't fall down so easy. But they were built a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, possibly before the invention of the wheel. However, Christopher Aleria improved upon the design by setting an AT-AT body atop an Axial Rock Crawler 4x4 remote control vehicle. Link -via Illuminations and Other Stuff

It's true: when you think about it, there aren't many wheels in the Star Wars universe. Besides under R2D2's feet, I can't think of a single Star Wars wheel. And in the case of R2D2, they are hidden. If this universe is a wheel-hating one, I'm afraid we'll have to part ways.

The prequel trilogy had the A6 Juggernaut. Looking at it, it was basically an AT-AT on wheels. Blink and you miss its appearance in Revenge of the Sith. I think it shows up in the Clone Wars show too (hadn't really watched that series.)

AT-ATs were possible the worst design in the entire SW universe. Slow, cumbersome, inefficient, vulnerable, and only able to fire straight ahead. A terrible design for a military vehicle. Wheels would have been a huge improvement.
