Johnny Depp Will Star As Dr. Seuss

Do you love Johnny Depp movies? Do you love Dr. Seuss? Well then, I assume you'll be lining up to go see the new Seuss biopic being produced by Mr. Depp that will also star -Johnny Depp.

Personally, while I love the actor and the writer, I just don't see Johnny's eccentric character acting style working for Dr. Seuss. What do you guys think?

I have always hated the word "biopic" -- not only is it pronounced wrong (it should be by-ahpick) it also means the wrong thing (it should be "has two eyes"). A lot of words are pronounced incorrectly, and a lot of words mean the wrong thing, but "biopic" manages both at once.

Also, I think I've had enough Johnny Depp for a while.

And I already miss Andy Rooney.

I knew Ted Geisel. Aside from the fact that Johnny Depp wouldn't reach Ted's belt buckle, he and Ted look like they came from different planets. There is no reason for this casting disaster except for money, in the name of which, many fiascos are perpetrated.

If the Johnny Depp of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", "Benny and Joon", "Neverland", "Ed Wood", and "Don Juan DeMarco" shows up, this will be a good film. When he's "on" he can play any role. In "Don Juan", he held his own in scenes with both Marlon Brando and Faye Dunaway. As far as physical resemblance, neither main character in "Walk the Line" resembled either Johnny Cash or June Carter. It didn't matter: they BECAME Johnny and June and turned in outstanding performances. If people were cast only in roles in which they were a clone of someone, there would not be many movies made.
