Doesn't look like it'd last long. Liquorice root tends to break apart rather easily when chewed. (Tastes good, though.)

While more tasty I don't see this as much a solution...I already have a problem eating through my pencils and (as a licorice lover) I just see this expediting the demise of my drawing/writing tools.

I love this idea but I think it would be better to keep the licorice root in my mouth and a standard pencil on the paper. Merging the two like this could be dangerous.
