Music from a Dry Cleaner

(YouTube link)

Experimental musician Diego Stocco passes in front of a dry-cleaning establishment almost every day. The sounds that came from the machinery there fascinated him, so he got permission from the owner to turn those sounds into a song. There are more details in his making-of post. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Music-from-a-Dry-Cleaner/2161629

Previously: Music from Sand and Bassoforte.

That's funny, when I saw the post I was like whaaaat!? Because I just put out a music video for a song I wrote called "Dry Clean Only". So I was like, did someone steal my stuff!? :-)

It always amuses me when people think this is innovative. Peter Gabriel was doing this 30 years ago. Karlheinz Stockhausen was 30 before that.

It's safe to assume that imagination is the only limitation to making anything *musical.

*Insert your own definition of "music" here.

Love it! But as a musician and professional soundman for the movies, I'd really love to see him get a good pair of headphones.

Rock on, Dry cleaner musician dude! Great stuff
