Around 100 villagers in the Philippines worked together Sunday to bind and retrieve a monstrous 6 meter long crocodile that has been terrorizing the community for months. The crocodile is an endangered species, and will be relocated to an ecotourism park.

The crocodile — weighing 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms) and estimated to be at least 50 years old — is the biggest caught alive in the Philippines in recent years. Wildlife officials were trying to confirm whether it was the largest such catch in the world, said Theresa Mundita Lim of the government's Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau.
It was captured alive after a three-week hunt in Bunawan township in Agusan del Sur province, where villagers have been terrified. A child was killed two years ago in the township by a crocodile that was not caught, and a croc is suspected of killing a fisherman missing since July. Villagers witnessed a crocodile killing a water buffalo last month.

WOW!! MASSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST. NEVER MIND THE LENGTH, THE GIRTH OF THIS MONSTER IS AMAZING!! WONDER IF THEY KILLED IT AFTERWARDS. I SURE HOPE NOT UNLESS THEY ARE GONNA USE IT TO FEED THE VILLAGE..ON THE OTHER HAND, WHENEVER I SEE THESE PICS OF EITHER SO CALLED 50' PYTHON OR 2000 LB PIG OR 300 LB RABBIT I GET VERY SCEPTICAL. ESPECIALLY WITH THE ABILITY TO ALTER IMAGES. SO MANY TIMES W/SNAKES ESPECIALLY ALL THEY HAVE IS THE SKIN FROM THE RECENTLY KILLED SNAKE, WHICH IS VERY ELASTIC SO THEY ARE ABLE TO STRETCH IT MAKING IT LOOK LARGER. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT IT TURNS OUT TO BE EITHER INACCURATE OR SIMPLY FAKE..SO UNTIL ITS ACTUALLY CONFIRMED BY A RELIABLE SOURCE I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING IT..OF NOTE: THERE HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED 20'+ SALT WATER CROCS IN THE WILD. ONES KEPT IN CAPTIVITY FOR MANY YEARS ARE PRETTY COMMON DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORK TO EAT WHICH IN THE WILD ISN'T VERY OFTEN AS CATCHING FOOD IS NOT AS EASY AS SOME DOCUMENTARIES AND MOVIES MAKE IT APPEAR, THEY SIMPLY WAIT TO BE "FED"..
