Lynyrd Syknyrd to Open BBQ Restaurant at the Excalibur

Quick word association game for you: What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say "Free Bird." Jousting? Yeah, me too. "Sweet Home Alabama." You thought of Merlin, didn't you?

These associations aren't so far-fetched. Classic rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd just announced that they're planning on opening "Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer at the Excalibur" later this year. It will look like a ""ram-shackled structure in the backwoods of Jacksonville," which sounds like a perfect match for the Medieval-themed Excalibur hotel.

What do you think? Is it totally weird and ill-fitting, or do you think anything goes in Vegas?

I use to work in the Excalibur. This doesnt surprise me. People who stay there are not high class and usually have kids with them. I think the hotel is less concerned about the theme and more concerned with "well who the hell stays in our cheap ass rooms?"

That and they have a place called Dicks where the bartenders insult you and make penis jokes so they already phoned in classy.

My dad loves them now, and when he was friends with some of the original members back in high school. I kind of hope he likes this, or we can go back home and loathe the actual Jacksonville together.

My fiance says that if Skynyrd's into it, it's okay with him, but they deserve better. I personally think it would be better in Jacksonville proper.
