Apparently, high school in the 70s was more far-out than I thought. According to the YouTube poster, this was from a 70s-era science class video; the lecture at the beginning was removed to highlight the wicked groovy dance-athon. I can't say I learned anything from this, but everyone really seems to be enjoying their time in Biology II.
Thanks for sharing, Adam Lukey!
Wow- such enthusiasm for learning is a beautiful thing. Try this nowadays and think of all the lawsuits and criminal charges that would follow.
I wish my high school was this enlightened. My teachers provided as much abuse and discouragement as the school bullies. I once had a teacher give me crap because she didn't believe all mammals have some form of hair. Our home ec teacher was divorced, the shop teacher was missing a finger, and we learned about birth control from a teacher with eight kids.
I bet the kids in this film had a brighter future than my classmates!
Miike: I laughed. This former high school biology teacher (1963-1994) can appreciate the effort by those students and their instructors. I remember the enthusiasm of most of my own students back in those days. We did a lot of learning then, but nothing quite as wild as this.
Wow- just wow. Science is very awesome but now it can also be groovy. I work at an academic institution and I have sent this link to several colleagues and urged them to try to include it in their lectures. Im sure the students would find it informative yet entertaining.
