Cinder Block Planter

Annette Guttierez made a cheap and simple but elegant planter for a patio using cinder blocks. Here's how she did it:

The wall was built with 12" cinder blocks (the kind you would use to build a column) and we used Liquid nails to hold them together because I didn't want grout lines and also it gave us more flexibility. In fact in order to make bottoms for the blocks that are sticking forward, we cut pieces of cinder block to fit the inside and then liquid nailed them in. We love liquid nails.

lol @ the mug comment. If you could comment there, what would you have said? You certainly didn't elaborate on your comment here, except to say that you don't like not being able to comment there.

They do that all the time for the Neato store, and not just for potentially controversial items. Some things for sale are interesting to people, and some aren't.

I for one, like the idea of the cinder blocks if you're trying to reuse them, but I wouldn't plan to use them in the first place.

This comment doesn't apply to this post, but instead to the previous post regarding the "Great Gays Out of the Closet Mug". Whether or not you find this worthy of a post on Neatorama, I think it's rather chicken-$hit to turn off comments for the item. Since I couldn't comment there I am commenting here. Come on, really??
