The Donald Duck Family Tree

Disney dorks like me will find this peek at Donald Duck's lineage fascinating. Drawn by comic artist Don Rosa, it first appeared in "Walt Disney's Comics (and Stories)" in 1995. It gives us a peek at little-known characters like "Sir Swamphole McDuck" and "Humperdink Duck." What's up with the mystery around Huey, Dewie and Louie's dad?

You can also see what names the characters go by in other parts of the world by clicking on their English names. Daisy, for example, is also known as Margarida (Portuguese), Katrien (Dutch), Paperina (Italian) and Dolly (Norwegian).

My question is: where does Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck fit into this picture?

The tree in the middle has a heart that says D.U. and C.K. but those initials don't correspond to anyone on the tree.

Maybe some clue to a "tainted" duck lineage?

Mr. Chesthair - The D.U.C.K. signature is Don Rosa's trademark - it means "Dedicated to Unca Carl [Barks] by Keno [Don Rosa]". The story goes that Disney artists weren't allowed to put a personal signature to their drawings, so Mr. Rosa had to hide the dedication. It is found in the first frame of most of his comics, often very well hidden though.
