A Better To-Do List Tattoo

This seriously looks like hell.

I was thinking about getting a tattoo that lists all my obligations as a Canadian citizen. Like; "don't trash talk the Queen man!", "Work hard!", "Pay your taxes" and perhaps some motivational phrases like "Suck it up!", "Don't be a baby!" and "Are you a man or not?"

Do you think I'll regret it?

You could always scribble notes on your arm without the tattoo.

at least it's useful and it's kinda fun...for a while.

i'm over 40 and my mom still won't 'let' me get a tattoo. i finally came up with one that no good mother could protest...CPR instructions tattooed on my chest.

Stephanie you dont think very far ahead do you? For 5 minutes of fame, why would you make yourself look foolish for life?? I dont get it...

@Spinafex: I didn't get this tattoo for 5 minutes of fame. I got it back in May after thinking about having it done for two years. I actually use it almost every day. Also, the tattoo helped me get in the habit of remembering to write down the things I tend to forget - which to do lists on paper failed to do because I usually forgot to bring my paper list with me - and, as a result, my memory is better. So, truthfully, this tattoo has actually been more positive for me than I thought it would be. I don't see any reason this tattoo would cease to be useful in the future, either. Most people tend to get MORE forgetful as they age, don't they? ;)

You're probably right in that as you get older you tend to forget more ,.. but ...
a) if your memory gets better then you don't need it,
b) you forget you even have it
c) your skin becomes too loose that you cant write on it anymore.

@Spinafex: While my memory has improved, I can still be forgetful. If the tattoo actually improves my memory to the point that I no longer need the tattoo, it'll be a miracle and I'll proudly tell everyone that my tattoo actually made itself obsolete! If I forget I even have it, then I can't really regret it, can I? I did consider the aging angle before having it done. I came to the decision that if I'm 80 (or whatever) and my big regret is a that a tattoo that actually served a purpose in my life no longer looks good/usable, or that any of my tattoos don't look good, then life is pretty good for me. I'm not saying it's the right decision for everyone or that you have to like it, just that I did actually spend a long time considering whether this tattoo was likely to be a positive thing for me in the very long term and whether I was willing to live with the consequences if it didn't turn out as well as I thought it would.

Well sure, isn't "make gazpacho" on everyone's To Do list? :)

Yeah I agree with Nemo (post 3) you could have written on your arm without the stupid lines. Oh Stephanie what are we to do with you???? lol

@Spinafex: That's very very true. I could've. But what's the fun in that?! I actually have been writing reminders on my arms and hands for YEARS. That and continually losing/forgetting my lists written on paper are the two main reasons I wanted the lines in the first place.
