This video explains how those cute little amigurumi figures are made -by magic!
I think maybe (and I could be wrong) that this is being run backward and they're unwinding things (from the kinkiness of the yarn) ... because, otherwise, this would take forever to make. Really cool!

Darn, you beat me too it. I was going to say "If you watch it backwards you see how it really happened"

Anyone know where I could purchase that third (and fourth)hand? Or a metal one like it, that is sturdy (hands that hold tightly at many angles). I really need one that holds weight. I have a metal one that really doesn't work so well. Sorry if this comment pushes the line of being relevant to the video.

I couldn't help you there, lucky. The information at the video is in Japanese, and I found it by accident.

lucky, from what I found it appears that they are stands for action figures, particularly the anime types (which this being Japanese would make sense) I'm trying to find more specifics but that will get you on the right track

The plastic arms look like stands for figma or revoltech anime figures for doing dynamic posing. I'd like to learn to do amigurumi crochet, lots of cute character patterns out there.
