Update: grape_ape knew the right answer: it's a brass paper folder, used by pharmacists to wrap powdered medicines before tablets became common. You'll find a more detailed explanation and more examples of such devices at the What Is It? blog answer page. The funniest answer came from Swami, who said, "It's a "First Step" made by Duzee,Inc. Seems to be a kind of a „Lift table“..

Maybe for a cylindrical object, such as a bottle, a barrel or even an arm or a limb.

But i fear that is not specific enough.

Seems to be a maually operated rodent trap.... Sit down hold the trap by two of the feets and wait until a rodent walks/runs between the two bars, then close the trap and block it with the catch so the rodent may not escape anymore...

How about an adjustable spacing block for a sleeved pipeline? A pipeline that is encased in a larger diameter pipe sleeve (in an area where more strength is required) would sit on these adjustable props to center it in the casing pipe.

It's a prototype of the ancient torture device called the pear. It's where they put this device in your... you know it's probably best if you just google it. All I can say is ouch.

It's a small stool for classic guitar players, just tall enough to get your foot up a bit, to get you into the right position. The adjust-ability thing is pretty cool! X-large for me or xx, I'll be sending it to Caleb, my nephew, my wife likes to get him funny shirts.
