Ralph, an American pelican, was swept up to Halifax, Canada by Hurricane Earl last fall. He is named after the local strip bar where he landed weak and dehydrated. He's been nursed back to health and is looking for a lift back to the U.S. as his muscles are weak after sitting around for several months. The paper work is tricky so supporters are looking for space on a private plane in order to take advantage of different entry rules for these aircraft. Whoever offers to take him home should be prepared for his pungent odor which is described as similar to rotten herring or unwashed fish bins left out in the sun.
