A Medieval Castle in Cowboy Country - Neatorama

Bishop's Castle is Jim Bishop's 160-foot high labor of love. His family lives in the castle he built in the San Isabel National Forest, near Pueblo, Colorado, but it is open to visitors in case you are in the area. Whoa, neat, I've been to this thing before. But it was nowhere near this done! I think it was a good 16 years ago when I was taken there by some of my family.

the "castle" is pretty cool, but Mr. Bishop is, how shall we say, a bit off his rocker. like others have said, try to avoid contact with him if at all possible.

My family has property very close to this, so I have been visiting this since I was a child. It is impressive, and I look forward to seeing it again. Bishop is crazy though. I thought it was interesting to listen to his insane conspiracy theory rants. But that's just me.
