Just because it is common to see doesn't mean it is comfortable for the camel. It's common to see pigs crammed in the back of a truck in the U.S. but a lot of people claim that's cruel.
Fact is, over all, humans treat animals with close to no respect. Just because that's so doesn't make it okay.
