Braille Tattoo of Björk Song Lyrics

Flickr user Nadia Prigoda-Lee snapped this picture at a Modest Mouse concert in Toronto. Two of her commenters say that it's the lyrics to the Björk song "Bachelorette" written in Braille.

This looks like a Snappy Answer to one of Al Jaffee's Stupid Questions:

Q: Are those blackheads all over your back?
A: No, it's the lyrics to a Bjork song in Braille.

Look people, I'm going to tell you what none of your friends have the nerve to say- your tattoo is hideous and embarrassing, and it's only going to look worse in time. You screwed up.

You can feel tattoos slightly upraised even after they heal, most of the time. I can feel the star shape of my star tattoo behind my ear. I always trace it when I'm bored at work.

Braille tattoo pointless... Good find of Tyson.

But I agree with fdghgfnfghn- I know some blind people and they all have no problems "seeing" my tattoos. Blind people feel far better than seeing people, so these lyrics should give no problems whatsoever to blinds.

Aside from that, with these lyrics in this braille tattoo I think this lady makes a really point about the kind of out of the box reality of Björk as an artist. I for one especially admire this lady for her having such a tattoo.

When a person asks your name you can answer "My name is..." or just say your name. Braille is similar in that it has ways to write a lot of words as well as parts of words in short-hand. So "the" is one character not t-h-e. This tattoo could be easily 40% shorter if someone who knows Braille had helped write the song out. Alas... all the needle pricks she could have avoided.

If your tattoo artist has a heavy hand (or just inexperienced/bad), then some folks will develop scar tissue, which accounts for the raised feeling and appearance.

It doesn't have anything to do with the artist. It's the client's bodily reaction and chemical balance. Some of my patients have had several tattoos from the same artist and some scar, some don't. Some have bizarre reactions to certain inks, or even specific colors. Some colors won't heal as well as others, for example. Some have allergic reactions to the same chemicals they took fine before.

DocLock, the skill of the artist could possibly vary on different days.
This is is just one of those ideas that, no matter what you think of it later, your first reaction is "how stupid is that?".
