Where Did We Bury that Time Capsule?

The officials of Kimberly, Wisconsin buried a time capsule 25 years ago with plans to dig it up to commemorate the town's 100th anniversary in 2010. The time has come, but no one knows where that time capsule is!
The time capsule held coins, news clippings and a bottle of New Coke in a 2-foot-long piece of white PVC pipe. It was buried near the municipal building in 1985.

However, the time capsule had to be dug up in 1997 when the building complex was remodeled.

Kimberly street commissioner Dave Vander Velden says it's not clear where — or even if — it was reburied.

They're now using a metal detector to look for it. http://www.startribune.com/local/112453574.html -via the Presurfer

Life must be pretty dull in Kimberly if they planned to dig up their time capsule in only 25 years.

Considering the citizens know exactly what has been buried what's the rush to open the capsule?

"The internet is kind of like a time capsule, except nostalgia never sets in because nothing ever goes away."

So true. And it's very odd that we will probably be looking back on internet memes or popular websites with a deep sense of nostalgia. It's gonna be weird to hear someone say fondly, "Remember LOLcats?"

It seems like there was a whole rash of these Time Capsule things back in the '80s. I remember my elementary school doing one. I don't remember it being dug up, but that seems kind of irrelevant, since many people had some of the same stuff from the time capsule hanging around their house.
