Cool! They obviously process the color channels in series rather than all at once. But I'm intrigued by the fourth (Black & White) channel. I wonder what kind of sensor they are using?
Brian: Depends who took the picture, I imagine. If you look at it on GoogleEarth, it says it's a TerraMetrics image taken in 2010 (unlike what Google Maps says). Never seen one with multiple rainbow effects (presumably created by building a colour image from multiple exposures)I have, however, seen several planes in flight on Google maps. By far the coolest was a Lancaster bomber.
This is neat, technically speaking the plane would appear to be traveling faster than the speed of light since the plane is out in front of the fastest light ban (red), and far in front of the slowest light ban (blue). This is a very interesting photo.
