AND: technically this is not the "only" existing footage, the National Geographic sponsored expedition footage of the wreck-site counts too, though it is contemporary.
Only existing "historical" footage would be more accurate.
I work for THEMSUEUM in Kitchener Ontario, and right now we are home to the Titanic artifact exhibit.
We have a video on display of roughly the same length that shows portions of the Titanic being built at the shipyard as well. The footage shows men hammering rivets, portions of the ship being lifted into place by crane, and aerial views of the ship in the yard.
In this footage the Titanic is not as complete as it is seen here, and it has not yet been placed in the water.
