There are at least five distinct and substantial mistakes in the opening minute of this newscast by the ABC affiliate in San Diego. It was time for them to call "Do over!" and start over again.

We just had a local weather guy pull a wonderful line out this morning. "It's going to be light, as opposed to something heavy." Which is better than opposed to something green or fish or John Adams.

Local news is the best.

All I can think of is that this wouldn't have happened under Ron Burgundy's watch. This clip would have stayed classy all the way through if he was still with them.

I live in San Diego. Believe me, this isn't out of the norm for this newscast.

The independent (non-network affiliate) newscasts have higher ratings. Although the FOX affiliate is a close runner up to the KUSI-51 (independent) juggernaut.
