The War on Suffrage

It's hard to believe today, but less than 100 years ago, there was a great debate about whether women should be able to vote. The anti-suffragists declared that voting women would abandon their families, they would become ugly and mean, and society would collapse.
This attitude was reflected in the suffragette caricatures drawn in newspapers and magazines. According to Tickner, depictions of spinster suffragettes were normally slender in a time when curves were celebrated; their faces likewise were severe and gaunt, “the lines of disappointment etched deep by the illustrator’s pen.” The spinster suffragette’s clothes and physical appearance emphasize that she is a failed woman and wannabe man. The lady wants to vote because she couldn’t get a date.

"The anti-suffragists declared that voting women would abandon their families, they would become ugly and mean, and society would collapse."

Well, we got the latter three.

Funny how we always blame the men, but when we look around at the role models that women choose for themselves, we see Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga, the entire cast of Jersey Shore, etc...

@nutbastard (great name btw not descriptive of your thinking at all)

"...the impact of those interactions caused by my biological drive to have sex with them..."

I'm merely speaking of the lack of progression in a specific area of America, governing forces, not the areas involving your penis.

"...I suggest you take a look outside at what women are naturally inclined to wear..."

If you would have bothered to read and absorb the information into your mind, which seems to be completely focused on genitalia as a counter point, you would have seen that I also said, "The girls put themselves out there to bee ogled, they can say no." It is really no more clear than that. Also, people are not naturally inclined to wear anything, literally and figuratively. That is a horribly blanketed statement. Women who wear clothes like that do it because it makes a statement, makes them feel good about themselves or any other millions of reasons; the same way I wear appropriate clothing to work, fashion-style clothing out and sweat pants while at home. It has nothing to do with a natural instinct but of selective choice for a certain situation and personality. By the way, the argument here is still women's oppression and not who is a slut.

Regardless, simply because you have contempt for the other gender does not mean that they are any less deserving of equality than anyone else. I interact with many moronic men who basically walk around with their heads up their asses and get more than distinguished women in the exact same position. Likewise, women who are idiots are glamorized and given money by....men. If people like you could put your penis aside, you would realize that this is no different than equality between people in any other situation: race, age, sex, class, etc.

@Randi

"The men with the political powers are the real ones to blame"

As a man, I can assure that any contempt I have for the female gender is a direct result of my interactions with members of the female gender, and the magnification of the impact of those interactions caused by my biological drive to have sex with them, and not, in fact, a result of indoctrination by male politicians.

"They are still slabs of meat for men to drool over."

Halloween is coming up, I suggest you take a look outside at what women are naturally inclined to wear, and how they are inclined to act, when social constraints promoting prudence and modesty are removed for a single 24 hour period. Last year I wore a skin tight body suit and had at least 4 incidences where my genitals were groped without my consent by giggling, drunk 20 something women dressed as "sexy [fill in the blank]'s".

Feminists are to Misandrists what All-White Country clubs are to Klansmen - sure, y'all aren't burning effigies on mens lawns, but it's clear that you've got misplaced contempt and fear of men as a concept. Which is known as bigotry, by the way.
