Sleepbox - Neatorama

The Sleepbox is an architectural concept by A. Goryainov and M. Krymov. It's something like a capsule hotel or apartment, but it's mobile:

The main functional element in it is a bed 2x0.6 m., which is equipped with automatic system of change of bed linen. Bed is soft, flexible strip of foamed polymer with the surface of the pulp tissue. Tape is rewound from one shaft to another, changing the bed. If a client wants to sleep in maximum comfort, he can take the normal set of bed linen for an extra fee. SLEEPBOX is equipped with a ventilation system, sound alerts, built-in LCD TV, WiFi, sockets for a laptop, charging phones. Also under the lounges is a place for luggage. After the clients exit, automatic change of bed linen starts and quartz lamps turns on. Payment can be made on a shared terminal, which provides the client with an electronic key. It is possible to buy from 15 minutes to several hours.

If they are going to rent it out for 15 minutes they better put curtains in it.

This would be amazing in airports and train stations, though it might need to have large windows for security. A few Christmases ago I ended up in the Atlanta airport overnight after a snowstorm delayed our flight. Delta of course refused to put us up in a hotel for an Act of God so we had to find a way to sleep in the airport. The only area in the entire airport with a single continuous bench is in the kid's play section and they forbid you to sleep there. We also got paranoid about someone stealing our stuff, so we took turns curling up in those awful chairs trying to doze while the other read and watched our things. I would have given an arm and a leg for a few hours in one of these.

Assuming they're placed in an Airport count on "rent" being something outrageous like $45 the first hour and $35/hr after that.

these look like a waste of space. make it just a bed, and don't waste valuable floor space by placing them all 10 feet apart.
But I do wish there was non-club sleeping space in airports.
