World's Tallest Climbing Wall

The Excalibur is a climbing wall at the Klimcentrum Bjoeks, a climbing center in Groningen, The Netherlands. It's the tallest climbing wall in the world, standing at 121 feet with a 36-foot overhang.

Photographer Eric Kieboom took many excellent pictures of this wall, 14 of which are available in his Flickr photostream. He suspended his camera from a kite line for the overhead shots.

pft, we got climbable 250 foot redwoods around these parts. i define 'tall' as being up so high you can no longer see the ground, just tree stuff all the way down.

Sure, there are natural climbs far taller than this; this is only a single pitch or less. But most man-made climbing walls are on the 10 meter scale. This is impressive as hell, particularly in that it isn't vertical and is a weird shape. It would be easy to just build a rectangular prism and cover the outside with plywood and climbing holds. It's exhausting just to look at.
