Who is That Wigged Man?

It is Hugh Laurie, better known as "House" in this 1992 video for Annie Lennox's "Walking on Broken Glass" (John Malkovich is also in the video)

The article in Spinner also listed 9 other other celebrities in music videos before they were famous, including Angelina Jolie in one for the Rolling Stones, Keaunu Reeves in one for Paula Abdul, and Johnny Depp in a Tom Petty one.

y 1992 Hugh laurie was of course very famous in the UK at least for his 'bit of fry and laurie' and jeeves and wooster stuff.. thsi was more of a cameo role rather than 'before they were famous'

I can't watch House, because I've watched the third and fourth seasons of Black Adder SO many times...Hugh Laurie played a VERY british, VERY clueless guy in both seasons, and that's all I can see him as!

I had the same issue with Gene Wilder. I saw him over and over in "The Producers" when I was a kid, and couldn't take him seriously in anything else.

It's not the first time an actor has become so established that they permanently get typecasted by an audience. I think he's done a great job spreading out with House, and his background in comedy (and music is a small degree) has helped make the show popular, even though I'm sure the series is going to wrap up in a year or two.

Hugh Laurie was very famous when this video came out. His role on House has shown what a tuly good actor he is.
I, for one, cannot watch House for more than a few minutes. House is an arrogant know-it-all A$$h@le who, I am surprised, has not been beaten to a pulp every episode. But that is Hugh Laurie's great acting ability.
I find myself hoping House will get dope slapped and half expecting him to go all glassy eyed and say; "What HO, Jeeves!"

Sorry, but Hugh Laurie was famous before 1992.
And I cannot watch House for the same reason Meg and others have said. I also see him as the bumbling Wooster.

* just noticed Meg's wee little Muckle Coo. :D

well... about Hugh Laurie... everybody needs to eat from time to time! (think about his "Stuart Little" time) XD, they forgot Jean Reno in a texas video (I see trought i think.. ) and Alan Rickman doing the tango in another texas video (In demand).

I am utterly tired of actors using accents other than their own. I guess Hollywood thinks we're all idiots and can't handle the idea that a character might be, say, Australian. Wouldn't the House character be much more interesting as a Brit? His natural accent could make him even more smarmy and interesting.
