The Keep Austin Weird Festival

(YouTube link)

The annual Keep Austin Weird Festival took place just last weekend in Austin, Texas. Who better to show us what it's all about than Zach Anner? This is the third part of his Zach Anner Rolls Over Austin series; see parts one and two as well. -via Bits and Pieces

I made my first-and last-trip to Austin in 2000. We arrived right in time to see the freaks gathered to support Nader and his run on the presidency. the whole area reeked of body odor. that, in collusion with the odor of guano from the congress street bridge prompted me into renaming Austin as Philadelphia West. I'd rather be in Mississippi!

That "freakier the better" is what makes Austin beautiful! Without Austin to keep the rest of this state centered, it'd be... Mississippi.

And we definitely can't have that.

Don't mess with Texas, baby.

A beautiful city has been totally ruined by all the freaks. I love Austin but why all the Left-overs from UT think that making Austin, the capital of Texas, into a place where ''the freakier the better'', I'll never understand.
