The title of this item was the headline at Fark, and I couldn't think of any better way to say it. The Big Picture blog has photographs of the Gulf oil spill as it reaches the Louisiana shores. Warning: some pictures may be disturbing.

Thanks,

- what is it going to be when the hurricane season comes?
- isn't that sludge cancerous and shouldn't people refrain from touching it?
Anyway the scars will be there for long : I visited brittany 10 years after the Amoco Cadiz spill and the rocks were still stained :(

I'm a frequent Neatorama user and I like the Big Picture--but I don't get a chance to view it every day. I appreciate the prompt that there is something of special interest posted there. It's why I come to a "compilation" website like N-o-R instead of 52 different websites.
Thanks,
Marishka
Never been to that site before, and had it not been posted today, I would never have seen it. Just because you've already seen a particular piece information, doesn't mean everyone else has seen it too. The world does not revolve around you, which you may or may not know, but I figured it was worth while to inform you.
Thanks,
Gauldar
Makes me want to stand on shore as if I could stop it with will and manpower
