Charlie Martin's van broke down and she really wanted to play some slots. This strong willed senior took to her motorized scooter and hopped onto the freeway in hopes of reaching the casino. She had to pull over because her oxygen tank was low. As she got up she tumbled into the bushes and had to be rescued.
She said she took the fastest route possible, which is Interstate 25.
"I only had one person yell at me and it was a kid," Martin said. "I told him to shut up."
She was taken to the hospital to be checked over. Even after all that she was still hoping to get a ride to the casino.

Uh... yeah no.
1. She probably smokes or used to and she can't go anywhere now without an oxygen tank. Lesson: Don't smoke.
2. She looks overweight at the least, obese likely, couple that with the smoking and you end up not being able to get around on your own. Lesson: Stay active, eat right.
3. Maybe if she gamble so much, she'd be able to fix her van promptly. Lesson, don't gamble more than you can afford to lose.

I do not have sympathy for people who can fix their situations, but chose not to. She made a poor decision to driver her scooter on the interstate. She should not get sympathy for tumbling into the bushes. She should not get sympathy for having an addiction. She put herself into the situation. She said her van broke down. A responsible individual would then take the money that they would have spent at the casino and get the repair. And accept that they were not going to the casino that day.
She complained that the casino's "free" shuttle service requires her to spend a night at the casino. But she probably gambles more than that in one visit.
