The Census of Marine Life is a series of projects to find out exactly what lives in our oceans. The latest report is an inventory of microscopic sea creatures such as plankton and animals, some in a larval state. National Geographic has published pictures of five of these creatures, including this larval stage of a tube anemone, which is only one centimeter wide.
