Infographics About Chocolate That Are Made Out of Chocolate

The French design firm 5.5 designed a few infographics for the Spanish chocolatier ChocolatFactory. Each is made out of actual chocolate. Pictured above is a set of domes that represent different cocoa contents, with the largest dome representing the least cocoa (60%) and the smallest representing the most (99%). The other graphics are chocolate bars that tell consumers how many calories they're eating and a pie chart demonstrating a distribution system.

It doesn't convince me at all to buy any of it though... and if the product being chocolate is all I need to know, then why are they making it more complicated than it needs to be? I guess some people like the novelty of it, but meh, it still doesn't make much sense to me. Just throw a nice looking wrapper on the bar telling me how much percent is in the bar and I'm good.

The real intent of an infographic at the end of the day is to bring attention to and sell a product. This does that pretty well I think. Not to mention the fact that it is obviously a tongue-in-cheek PR project.

Don't be a party pooper, it's chocolate. That's all you need to know. :)

I don't get it. The whole reason behind infographics is usually to serve some purpose visually of getting across a point, or portraying technical information in an aesthetically pleasing fashion to explain something. I would have to say that in my opinion, this nothing more than eye candy.
