It's not all srs bsns at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. The employees of the hospital put together this "Pink Glove Dance" to promote breast cancer awareness. Looks like a lot of fun!
I agree. I was really emotional over this. Two of my friends at school were diagnosed with cancer last month, and even they thought this was inspiring.
So is this what everyone is doing while patients wait hours to be seen? It would be cute if I could stop thinking of all the thousands of wasted gloves....
It looks like most of the clips were filmed during downtime or break; most likely over the course of a few days or weeks. It would be way too stupid to just drop work to do a lil' dance.
I'm more worried about the woman who opened the umbrella inside. Bad luck forever!
Not to sound insensitive or anything, but really, is anyone *not* aware of breast cancer at this point? Is someone going to see this and say, "Huh, that breast cancer must be pretty nasty stuff if it makes people dance around in pink gloves. Funny that I'd never heard anyone talk about it before." I wish they'd taken the five bucks they wasted on those gloves and donated it to the Komen charity or something.
Awesome. So many thoughts, but who cares what I think?
..Gee, I'll spout off regardless. Blah blah... just one thought off the pile: I wish the Powers Who Cast New Television Series would review snapshots like this when casting actors. I get excited every time a new sitcom, or whatever, is announced and then deflate as I see that (once again) every single character is white. I'm white, but my classmates, workmates, and the professionals who teach and treat me are always a mix, no matter where I live in the US.
Very fun way to support awareness.
