Short answer: The offensive line thought they should have gotten an offsides or encroachment call on the d-line.
Maybe the guy knew that the only way he'd ever be featured on ESPN is if he did something drastic. And if that's the case, well then it worked.
Yeah... definitely not a video game. The angle you mention is the result of the cameras that are strung up on wires behind the line. You can actually see it right near the 'FSU' score graphic at the top of the screen at around 0:14 in the video. These sorts of cameras are very common nowadays on the football field.
I too wish Video games looked that real.
