The Ten Best Post-Apocalyptic Survival Vehicles

Jalopnik asked its readers for suggestions on what vehicles would be best for surviving and traveling in a post-apocalyptic world. Nine existing vehicles and one semi-fictional vehicle made the cut. Pictured is the Dobbertin Surface Orbiter.
Built out of an old milk tanker, the Orbiter was designed to circumnavigate the globe on land and water, which is good for when you're on the move and forced to deal with the suddenly changing seasons that the nuclear fallout will likely bring. And like all good survival vehicles, it comes complete with a kitchen and porta-potti.

Yep, the Landmaster was the first thing I thought of, and apparently so it was for many of the commenters on that page.
I used to ride past it where it was parked against the hillside in front of Jeffries Automotive Styling on the Cahuenga Pass for about 20 years!
Kinda sad watching it disintegrate... until they finally restored it before selling it off.

Strong winds brought a roller coaster to a halt
but a sudden gust halted it
accident had been caused by “extreme weather”

Trying to beat the TV news?
Also can you really call it an accident, wouldn't malfunction be a little more suiting?

If roller coasters had been around when humans first worked out their primal fears, THAT situation would have been included in the original description of hell.

this is probably untrue. someone probably caught a picture of the rollercoaster during the loop, it happens very often! this is probably some made-up story based on the picture and i wouldnt believe this w/o doing further research. i mean come on! a gust of wind vs. gravity! just not possible...
