The Frictionator is a Ford F650 pickup truck equipped with a 7,000 hp GE J85 jet engine. Joe Arnold's monster truck is capable of reaching speeds up to 200 mph and is street legal (so as long as you don't use the jet engine).

Jet engines aren't efficient at low speeds. That's why this thing seems slow.

I saw this thing at the NADM East Coast Nationals... What a slow turd. He did 2 runs with the jet in full reheat mode, and only managed an 18 second 1/4 mile at 78MPH.... Rather comical... The guys with actual engines in their pickups were doing 12 second 1/4s... He got a big laugh out of everyone even the kids.

These people with all the talent building crap like this. Can't they get together for a couple of hours and find a way to build cheaper efficient vehicles. :(
