I agree, the camera work seems sloppy. But it remains steady through the one take, no unnecessary panning/zooming. Also, the kids on the court go from nonchalant, to raging mob, to empty gymnasium. It just seems to well done, and too quick.

Actually, it *is* half court. Haven't you people ever been to high school? He's in a gym which has six baskets; two of them are on the short sides for full-court games, and four of them on the long sides which makes two half-courts. He tossed the ball across one of the half-courts.

Yes its would be a half court shot since the gym is divided into multiple courts. But people make such a big deal out of a pro or college shot from half court why not this.
But as far as the Traveling foul goes He doesn't travel anymore than the pros do half the time when they slam dunk one. They take at least 2 steps without dribbling before actually leaving the floor.
Its one heck of a shot regardless.

It is a really awesome shot... if it's real. Am I the only one who noticed a change in trajectory of the basketball? It appears to be heading towards the left when he releases the ball as it exits the frame, yet when the ball comes back into frame, it is traveling slightly to the right. It wouldn't be hard to have the crowd fake their excitement.

Matt! YES! I thought that too - I actually came here just to see if anyone else noticed that. But I totally agree with you. I'm saying "fake" - since the basketball goes out of frame.

The basketball may go out of the frame (not surprisingly), but watch all the other kids. There is no change in their position, no jerky movements, nothing to suggest a fake.
