Laundry Retrieved from Retriever

When Bailey the retriever went to the veterinary clinic in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, England, the doctor thought he had a tumor. What veterinarian Keith Moore found inside the dog was five golf gloves, ten socks, one stocking, and part of a towel!
"Vets obviously do a fair number of foreign object removals but I doubt I will ever see anything like this again in my career.

“Even for us, from a vet’s point of view, it was pretty amazing.

“It was like doing a magic trick. We were just pulling out one sock after another,” he joked.

Moore believes Bailey must have been eating laundry for years to accumulate such a mass. The dog has fully recovered from surgery and acts like a puppy again. Link -via Arbroath

Glad the dog is ok.
One of our dogs eats cloth crap. She'll chew parts off of the doggy toys, and will scarf down socks if she finds them when her stomach is upset... you know, how dogs do w/ grass?
Very gross finding a big wad of gooey mess that used to be one of your socks.

Oi. I work at a doggy daycare center and one of our regulars has a charming habit of vomiting up various articles of clothing. Usually socks, but occasionally underwear. Of course, he immediately replaces it by eating our bedding...

I don't own a dog, but all the previous posters seem to indicate that their dogs gack up foreign objects fairly quickly.

This article claims that objects remained in this dog's digestive tract for several years.

How ? Any suggestions ? This sounds like crap to me...no pun intended.
