Happy Valentine's Day ... Hey! Wait A Minute!

Joel Watson of Hijinks Ensue made this printable Valentine's Day card that is oh-so-wrong if you think about it. If you don't get this, then it's obvious that you've never watched Star Wars before ...

I guess one could fail to get it, if they didn't see the original first. There was definite, intentionally sexual attraction between Luke and Leia. Then Lucas changed his mind. Again.

Movie 1: Who gets the girl, Han or Luke? Probably Luke.
Movie 2: Looks like Han gets the girl. Poor Luke.
Movie 3: There's a good reason Luke didn't get the girl.
Movies 4, 5, and 6: I meant this to happen all along.

My opinion was that "A New Hope" is loosely based upon Oedipus. So cards like this on fortify my suspicions. If no one still understands LUKE AND LEIA ARE BROTHER AND SISTER. DING DING DING

The Luke/Leia brother/sister thing was the result of Lucas telling a story with no idea what it was, where it came from, or where it was going. The original Star Wars movie was so different from initial concept to final product that Lucas was making the story up as he went along with only the vaguest of background ideas in his mind that were easily changed constantly by things as simple as his lead artist's artist conception sketches. Case-in-point: Vader had no mask or anything until McQuarrie drew him with a breathing apparatus so that he could move through space in order to raid ships. Then the whole life-support suit/mask was born. Lucas admits this. But now, after the prequels were spawned, he wants us to believe that this sh!t was the background for the story all along. I'm not buying it.
