Here's the interview with Babble's Gwynne Watkins:
Robert Sabuda kicked off the pop-up renaissance in 1996 with Christmas Alphabet, a series of elegantly constructed pop-up images that scaled the New York Times bestseller list, despite its then-staggering price tag of $19.99.
Matthew Reinhart began working alongside him and creating his own work when the two became a couple, twelve years ago.
Now, working from their Tribeca studio with four assistants, Robert and Matthew start from scratch with each new book, crafting elaborate, intricately colored structures that leap from the pages, then sending the books off to be hand-assembled overseas.

can you make a direct link?
My only gripe about pop-ups is with their delicacy. They always wind up mangled, especially in the hands of children.
their dinosaur book was off the hook though seriously. did they do that nutso star wars one?
I've wanted to make a pop-up book for a long time now... don't think I could do anything that complicated though lol... maybe one day :D
I own two Robert Sabuda pop up books & their quality is top notch and hard to surpass.
I am saving my growning collection for a child down the lane, when they are old enough to not rip it apart :)

It's really, really naughty, though. I mean, far naughtier than I thought it would be. Don't look through it with your grandma.
