Denny's Slammed by Breakfast Promotion

Denny's restaurants across America were jammed yesterday with customers seeking to take advantage of a promotion advertised during this past weekend's Super Bowl game.

The promotion promised a free Grand Slam breakfast to anyone between the hours of 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

While I was too busy at work to go, some of my friends went.  Did any of you take advantage of this offer?

Media outlets reported customers lined up outside the doors of many of Denny's 1,500 locations.

Some patrons were still wearing their pajamas and slippers, and strangers were crowding together into booths, CNN affiliate KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah, reported.

I went at lunchtime (Santee, California) but took advantage of teh rainchecks they gave out which don't expire until 2/13. It was a long wait but everyone seemed to be patient.

Pretty brilliant marketing campaign. Instead of spending $3million for a super bowl spot that lasts 30 seconds, they give out $5million worth of breakfast and have local radio and television station in the country cover it for a day. Also, nice to give people breakfast :)

I used to be a Dennys regular. Me and a friend would eat greasy breakfast food, play cards, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes until the sun came up after getting off work.
