Living Statues

We’ve all seen them in busy shopping streets and parks, or in front of monuments and tourist attractions: street performers posing as statues. Some whistle when you pass by, some move when you give them money. Some do it as a career, others between jobs. But whatever the case, being a living statue takes guts, strength, creativity and yes, a good deal of exhibitionism.

Environmental Graffiti has photos of 15 living statues, some you'd never know until they moved! Link -via Unique Daily

did anyone else the one where some pranksters put a real stature that looked like a living statue in a busy town square and left it with a pot for money? they made loads for doing nothing

I once saw a living statue that was very interesting, because he was missing an arm. I mean he had dressed up as a statue that had had its right arm cut off by vandals. I suppose he didn't have a right arm in the first place, but he'd fashioned a bronzed half-arm to wear that looked very much like a statue's arm hacksawed through just above the elbow.

GASP!

There's a picture of THE PURPLE MAN!

I was going to mention this Purple Man that my family and I saw in York, and that my dad took a good picture of and then proceeded to come home and make The Purple Man the Blue Man or the Green Man or the Rainbow Man via Photoshop.

:D

Wouldn't be cool if there was a "living" version of Gaston Lachaise's "Heroic Woman"?

There is a fellow by Eaton Centre here in Toronto dressed up like a Cowboy. Dude does it even when it's cold! Then there is the lady who dressed up like an Angel on Bloor and Yonge St...though I haven't seen her since Winter began.

Hi, how are you? Does anyone know how I can contact someone whose job is to pose as a living statue. I would really appreciate it if you know someone in the Toronto Region. Thanks.
