Wazzup, Eight Years Later

(YouTube link)

From 60Frames, a remake of the "wazzup" ads from eight years ago, featuring a reunion of the original cast. Can you remember what product the original series was advertising? -via Boing Boing

-Thanks to the half-dozen or so folks who submitted this!

Update: here's a link to the original ad. -Thanks, V!

you know...i really hated the original ad...but that short truly touched me...i mean it...it makes me feel a tiny bit more confident that we are not doomed as a species

i should've guessed it would be another political campaign. can NOBODY make a commercial around the elections that have nothing to do with the elections? anyone?

nevertheless, it was cool to see the "today" version of the wazzup commercial. i even liked the global warming outside. that made me laugh.

Is just about everyone missing the Cindy McCain connection with this?

Cindy McCain is owner & chair of Hensley & Co, one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributers in the US. John McCain himself worked for the company as VP of Public Relations before getting into politics.

Anheuser-Busch's flagship product is... Budweiser.

This is not funny, inspiring or informational. If you are Democrat, you will like it. If you are Republican, you will dislike it. If you are like me and have lost faith in both parties, you will just be a little more sad than you were before you watched. it.

I encourage someone (Alex?) to make a third, identical post titled “Whassup? 2008? — which is, tecnically, the proper spelling of the term.

What he said.
You could tell where it was going with the politics, but at the end, it was so blatant, it was really disappointing.

Do people really think electing Obama is going to solve the problems of these guys? I hope they're not too disillusioned when the promised "change" doesn't come. It would be interesting to see him get elected, just to see if he keeps his vague promises.

Yeah because for the majority of America, John McCain means their lives will be better. Soldiers..McCain is against expanding the benefits of their outdated GI Bill. He loves deregulation and trusting the market to the CEOs. Keating. His proposed health plan won't help the majority of those that need it. Those proposed corporation tax cuts aren't designed to create more jobs.

The two-party system doesn't work but it's what we have for now before a major radical movement. So to those complaining about how disappointed they were in the ending..do something or you know, stay excited about a McCain or Palin presidency and blindly hate everything about Obama.

Also, Neatorama...politics has been neat here so far.

Peeves, it doesn't matter to me who wins your election; I'm not even part of your political system. Nice of you to paint everybody with the same brush, though, as "blindly hating everything about Obama".

I would have found an ad for McCain equally disappointing - Oh, but those don't get posted here.

This ad was like one of those "you've won a free vacation", and you end up listening to people selling time-shares. Buzzkill.

Yeah, hated the ending. I'm so sick of political ads. I knew how I would be voting months ago, not based on ads but on research. Still researching all the propositions that will be up for vote. Yes, I actually read voter booklets and articles and editorials.

Who gives a crap if it has a political message. You're currently in an election right now and it's a fact.

Lighten up will ya? and just enjoy the posts!!

I was not expecting a political ad when I first started watching, but wasn’t terribly surprised when Obama showed up. At least we have less than a week to see the poli commercials! It was still a pretty well-made commercial I’ll have to admit. Made me sad.
