Monuments to Touch for Luck

Read about ten monuments around the world that have become well-known as places for luck. The idea is that you should rub, kiss, or pat the monument, which leads to extreme polishing of certain parts. Shown is Ireland's Blarney Stone, the most famous of all, which should be kissed upside down! Link -via the Presurfer

Being of Irish decent i have always been told by my relatives to never kiss the Blarney Stone due to the fact the town drunks know tourists often kiss it so the urinate on it to get a good laugh at the not so smart visitors.

Just wondering, how do the town drunks piss on it? If you have to pay to get in and the Blarney Castle has opening and closing hours I'm guessing it's not the easiest of places to just walk in drunk at night. Or do the daytime employees turn a blind eye to the daytime drunks?

And to add onto the story off the bull in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the reason for spinning on the bull's balls is because it's the crest of Torino, Milano's neighbors and rivals.

i went, kissed it, they wipe it off, no biggy...its suppose to bring one of two kinds of luck to those who kiss it...i only remember one of them that the tour guide said... "the gift of gab." maybe the other one was good health....? anyone else remember?...
