d.v.d.

Their name is easy to remember: Tokyo-based d.v.d is a trio with two drum players, Itoken and Jimanica and visualiser Takashi Yamaguchi (ymg) on the hardware front. So while the two are furiously beating two drum kits in front of a huge screen, their sounds trigger geometrical shapes with processing, Pong-style game settings or bizarre drop landscapes that interact, transform or collapse.

It would have been nice if the game developers added an algorithm that would have made sure that the ball landing on the would be synchronized on the beat, similar to what a sequencer does when using MIDI programs. I repair video games for a living and at high levels this game wouldn't sound like anything more than some kid beating on a drum as hard and as fast as he can.
