Chris saw this poster in a window on Ponsonby Road, Auckland, New Zealand yesterday morning. I have no doubts Murder Burger will fill all positions quickly, since this sounds like a really cool place to work! Link to Flickr page. Link to large version. -Thanks, Chris!

Since they state the "P addict" can be up for 7 days, I'm wondering if they're referring to "peudoephedrine."

Great ad though. If I was still in Nursing School, and living in New Zealand, I'd be all over a place called "Murder Burger."

No you aren't the only one to notice the redundancy in the title, but judging from the tone of the whole notice, don't you think that just maybe that redundancy was intentional? Just sayin'...

Well I applied.

I'm only about 10k miles away but it sound lie a good gig, and Ponsonby is meant to be nice in a small town way.

Fingers crossed.

"P" is short for methamphetamine down in the newest of all Zealands, as 'splained by someone with a cat avatar on Flickr, or a cat with a self-portrait posting comments on Flickr....

Yes - "P" is what the call crystal methamphetamine in New Zealand.

I don't think anyone knows for sure why P is the nickname, but several websites I looked at advance the theory that it stands for "Pure."

In Davis, CA near the campus of UC Davis there was a place called Murder Burger for a long time. But I drove by there again in June after many years gone and the old billboard now says Redrum Burger. So perhaps the P.C. crowd in Davis has gotten their way?

Wouldn't a place called "Murder Burger" welcome an employee who might "one day flip, grab a knife and become Mr. Stabby"?

I'm not sure if I'd want to eat at a place called "Murder Burger" anyway...

There was one in Rocklin, CA as well, when I went back for a visit... the place had shut down. The sign also changed since my visit to.. Yep. Redrum.

Too bad people in NorCal can't just take a cheeky name and have fun with it.

you guys did notice that murder=redrum, only you have to read it backwards, and lawyers don't do that, so you are less likely to get sued or something :)

Hmmm, thats just down the road from where I live, I could always do with another job.

Too bad it will be full of people from Ponsonby! (atleast it isn't Remuera though) :p

Larfin Jackarse > Ponsonby is central Auckland, and quite different to South, it's more of a cafe/restaurant/restored old homes suburb. It's quite Ponsy.
