Chevy Aveo's Penny Ads

Would you stop to pick up a penny off the floor? How about from a billboard ad? Chevrolet created a 20-foot billboard advertisement for the Aveo entirely out of one-pence coins in London's New Oxford Street ... which was stripped clean by passers in 30 minutes flat:

Chevrolet's Les Turton commented:“There have been some great car adverts before, but none that has stopped traffic and actually put money back into the motorist’s pocket so this is certainly a first. We’re glad we’ve topped up lots of people’s wallets, purses and, in some cases, rucksacks, but it would have been nice for the billboard to last a little longer than 30 minutes.”

I wasnt a big fan of my Aveo the first year because it was getting crappy mileage and I thought I had been sold a lemon. I only got the car because it was so cheap, about $10k. Its an 06 and now it gets 36-38 mpg regularly so I am very happy with "The Marshmallow" as it's been dubbed

The two men on the ladder must think the pennies higher up on the billboard are very special pennies.
These photos are obviously part of the campaign.

a viral ad, no doubt.

Notice that everyone in these pictures is quite good looking and/or cute , they all look like proffesional types . Proffesional types in London ... Do not stop .. ever !
Londoners special talent is "walking quickly past stuff like their life depends on it" . I would have more confidence in this if the range of people looked like : one scruffy guy with a hoodie and a thin dog, a mad looking fat guy with loose elasticated trousers, two evil looking teens with furtive leers, a drunk bloke just barely standing up. Those are the characters who would even care about this in London.

plus, these photos are too high quality.
