Infamous Dragnet "Blue Boy" LSD episode

Wow, man - groovy! Can you dig it? Sgt. Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon of the LAPD certainly could. LSD was the scourge of Los Angeles in this 1967 episode of Dragnet wherein Friday and Gannon try to save a young man named "Blue Boy" from himself - and those sugar cubes he's been carrying around. A deliciously camp bit of 1960s television drug fare. YouTube.

ha - seekshelter - awesome memory!

Another one I thought of - but couldn't find - was the Hawaii Five-Oh episode where hippy surfers and beach-bums were doing amphetamines, and there was one dude who was high on speed while driving a motorcycle, but started having an acid-like trip...

Book 'em, Dano!

"Looks like he's been dropping that acid we've been hearing about..."

Looks like those half-black, half-white face dudes from Star Trek.

Michael Burns, the actor that played Blue Boy, went on to get his Ph.D in history became a professor of history at Mount Holyoke College and retired in 2002 as Professor Emeritus.

All that acid didn't seem to hurt.

I'm on the bus.

heheheh good find Adam. I just watched this episode, again, about 2 weeks ago. It's as funny now as it was when i was a "blueboy" myself.
Man if we acted like that then they would have entire wings of medical facilities filled with us back then.
Thnks Adam

i've never dropped, but i'm pretty sure it's crap depicted like this that prevents me from doing so. just the FAKE description makes me say "wow.. that looks REALLY stupid." also, i'm not a fan of intoxicants that cause damage. but great episode! i loved watching dragnet when i was little.
