hmmm.. let me see.. there are TWO cups there, and there just happens to be TWO hands attached to your arms, so you could REALLY just carry them, but if it's too complicated to wrap your obese fingers around your mocha-latte frappacinno with syrup, i think you may have bigger problems than carrying your coffee. of course, using a tray is way too practical because it can be used again and again. but knowing you share the same mentality as the other folks who need a carrying case for their coffee, you'll use it and lose it as quickly as that entire bag of donut-holes you ate this morning. and don't worry about the land-fills because hey- out of sight; out of mind, right? you'll NEVER be effected by the waste of human beings because you're special and need a carrying case for you coffee.
I think that everyone is just a little too intense over a carry caddy. Perhaps too much caffeine? Fact is, those little trays go to landfills too, but if you need to get from point a to point b with more than one drink, whether you are driving or not, they are convenient, which is precisely the point of this. I don't care if one is a razor shunning vegan or a 400 pound moose, these are convenient when you have your hands full. Recycle or reuse if you are so worried about litterbugs and landfills.
It looks like it's be made out of hard paper/cardboard, which would be recyclable and I think the point is to protect your hands from hot beverages or burns from spills. Jesus get a grip people..this is a good and environment-friendly design.
You're right, Christopher, those are less convenient for the car, but more convenient if you are out shopping or something, and your hands are too full to lug the coffees and the shopping bags around. I meant to point that out in my earlier post, but I was just shaking my head at the previous responses that made it seem as though someone had invented an instrument to better remove the brains of kittens with.
They have probably been drinking way too much coffee.
