Cult Worshiped Giant Teapot

That teapot cult sounds familiar. Are you sure it wasn't featured on Neatorama sometime in the past?

Teapot? Of all the things to worship...maybe they were really into tea? :p

teapots aren't that strange. heck, some people worship a sky-fairy! i worship a flying spaghetti monster who touches me with his noodley appendage all the time.

Worshiping a teapot? Well good a holy symbol as any I guess.

It doesn't seem like they worshipped the teapot itself as a divine being, but rather revered it as a sacred symbol (read the links from the Wikipedia article). They also apparently used a giant umbrella as another sacred symbol.I'm sure this subtlety made little difference to her shariah persecuters and novelty-seeking Western commentators who love sensational copy. But I think the real story is more interesting than "crazies worship teapot".

What's really sad is that a "former teacher" is worshipping a tea pot. Gotta wonder how well this teacher's students did.

Worshiping a teapot is just as good as worshiping a meteorite or a Buddha or a man hanging on a crucifix.

I know lots of people that 'worship' two wooden sticks put together. They feel these items somehow get them closer to their deity.

This reminds me of some old Star Trek episode where the people on some remote planet worshiped ...I can't remember the name given to it, but it was spelled out from the remaining letters naming the Voyager space probe or something.

Where is this world going?? They could have worshiped me I would have at least said thing to them. If you believe in evolution then you will know that we are getting smarter as the generations come. And you would think that if in fact we are getting smarter then we stop building things to kill each other and stop worshiping tea pots.

Paul, I agree with you but I should add people don't 'believe' in evolution, they either 'accept' it or not. Evolution is a scientific theory just like the Theory of Gravity. It's hardly a belief, and more like a LAW.
