I don't know what kind of silly German talk show this is but somehow, the host managed to get Lionel Richie to sing "Hello" with his lungs filled with helium. Odd as it may seem, it's quite funny.

I can't help it. Sad or not, I grew up with my mother listening to this sort of stuff (I know all the words...as a matter of fact) and I can't help but let a little snerk escape.

I used to watch "Wetten, dass ..." every Saturday when I was growing up. This show has been on TV since 1981. My parents still tape it for me whenever it comes on and send it to me. It is so entertaining and every show is different. The host "Thomas Gottschalk" actually lives in California. The next show will be on March 1st in Halle, Germany. Live. I can't wait to see it.

it's true that "Wetten Dass?" is germany's if not one of europe's most popular shows. it's been on for probably somewhere around twenty-five years. yet it has to be said that they've lost a lot of their shine. the current presenter (thomas gottschalk, the dude with the blonde perm) is way over the hill and needs to retire badly. that you might as well tell him yourself - he resides in malibu.
